Splitting head

Professor Zolkower just gave me back one of my papers from the summer class. A lot of the paper was opinion based, and she told me to do it over. She basically wants me to rewrite it as her opinion, as everyone knows that Argentinans are always correct, especially when she is using our work for her research. I’m splitting emotionally in two. One side says she is passionate about math and correcting the serious flaws in our system, the other side simply finds her every personal classroom method abhorrent. My skull is developing this dark little corner full of bile that houses a Gollum like character. Every time her name is mentioned, he lurches out and shouts ‘Bitch! We HATES her!’ This woman has never taught in a classroom in America, and she definitely doesn’t practice the teaching concepts she preaches. Every person in the class universally dreads attending her class, as she will nitpick every topic, stretching a 5 minute discussion into a 60 minute lecture. A four hour class on a Monday night with her is painful. Give me a choice of paper cuts across exposed tooth nerves or another one of her classes, and I’ll break open my teeth myself.

One bit of advice someone gave me in Grad School: "Do you want a Masters? Or do you want to be right?" That always helped me bite the bullet and write papers that were what the Professors wanted to hear...
