Dinner and a night out

I'm feeling a bit under the weather tonight. I decided on a pasta with grilled onions, sundried tomatoes, and loads of garlic. Charlie had left some organic wheat pasta for me which I used as a base. Of course, being me, I then drowned all of that with a terrifyingly artificial cheese sauce that lists cheese as the third ingredient. Healthy things really shouldn't be all that visible.

Tonight I'm going to the Westminster Dog Show with my aunt and Derrick. The possibility of watching some wildly purebred dog turn on its owner on live tv sounds rather promising. I'm really excited, except for the stress of dressing. I finally have a suit for funerals and weddings, but classy dog shows and such leave me perplexed. Fortunately, roommates and Derrick have an emergency plan for things like this. Derrick bought me a nice shirt for Christmas, Charlie picked out the pants, and I get to iron.

Derrick even told me to iron the shirt inside out. I have no idea why, but when it comes to clothes, I've learned to trust him.

Did I read that right? You're going to watch the dog show on tv.. in a suit?

Well, whatever floats your boat. Enjoy! And a Happy V-day to you! :)

On some shirts it's helpful to iron inside out so that you don't get a shine on the material. (You also don't have to iron around the buttons that way.) Consider that you're Helpful Hint from Heloise for the day... (god I'm so gay...)

Derrick has great couture-preparation wisdom, young padawan. Listen to him with the ironing of the shirt tips as he offers, you should One with the properly-dressed side of The Force, he is.

(Unfortunately, I belong to the Dark Side of the Force and must dryclean.)

However... you're dressing for a CLASSY DOG SHOW?

I'd hate to see what a not-so-classy dog show looks like.

Also, if you have an older iron and don't use distilled water when you steam, you run the risk of leaving mineral stains on lighter colored fabrics. It's totally the anal leakage of house work.

Actually, Derrick is just fucking with you. You're supposed to iron your *underwear* inside out while standing on your head,

wearing a dog collar.

OK. My work is done here . . .
