Joys of Ketek
I found a great new side effect of the antibiotics I'm taking. Woohoo, the runs! Some people would think this is a horrible thing, and they are partially right. Sure, I keep having horrible cramps, I'm still coughing and almost inadvertently crapping in my pants, and I am stuck inside for the weekend.
I prefer to think like Karen Carpenter. She sang such happy songs! If I eat food and it shows up within about three hours again, that means that I CAN EAT ALL I WANT AND ABSORB NOTHING! Tonight for dinner I had a giant bowl of my specially modified mac and cheese, with extra cheese, HP sauce, onions, garlic, and ground beef. I also ate a box of cookies and some ice cream.
Yes, yes, yes. I'm keeping hydrated with lots of water. In about one more hour, I will probably regret my decision. Until that point, I'm going to have fun.

When I had to take laxatives prior to the colonoscopy I learned an important lesson- don't even think of taking a nap. I hope your runs end ASAP.

Yeah, antibiotics have a nasty habit of giving you the friggin' runs. I'm glad they exist but hate the side effects. Eat some yogurt when you can.

G, aside from taking something like Imodium to slow things down, you may want to go get some acidophilus. You can find it at Vitamin Shoppe or some other similar store. The antibiotics are destroying the "good" bacteria in your intestines. The acidophilus will help put it back. It will help you feel better quicker.

Take the acidophilus AFTER you finish the round of antibiotics. Depending on the type of antibiotic you're on, it can weaken the effect. After you're finished with the antibiotics, take the acidophilus (with a full glass of water) 30 minutes before a meal three times a day for about a week.
