Days of whine and roses
Don't ask me right after work what work is like. Work often feels like riding the edge of a sinking ship with water pouring over the sides.
By the end of a day like today, I'm just figuring how far I have to jump so I don't get dragged down with it.
The new assistant principal who moved into the store room next to me decided that her cleaning solution was to move the 30 boxes of books in her room into the area I had managed to clear out in my room. Karma requires her falling into an open elevator shaft onto broken glass and rubbing alcohol, but I'll have to deal with more mess.
And yet-
I'm happy. I'm exhausted and cranky, but I'm happy. For the first time in my life, I'm living semi-successfully with a man I love. In the last week I've eaten an amazing dinner with my aunt on a river cruise, walked the beaches of South Jersey with Derrick's friends, and every day is filled with moments that are on my list of a life worth living.
My job is tough, especially on an empty stomach. I just need to remember to eat, take a break, regain perspective.

Boyfriend read this entry and criticized me for "semi-successfully." He's never understood the whole concept of jinxing something, as he ALWAYS makes comments about perfect weather, perfect traffic, and a perfect day. Stupid optimistic Canadians.
Like I said, "semi-successfully."

actually, i'm sure it's not happiness. probably side effects of the medication. as for the garbage, return the favor. except use a chipper/shredder to return her things. that might bring real, true, lasting happiness.
