Things bother me. That's why it is so nice to have friends like Hugo and Kathy.
The Whole Foods store in Union Square was bothering me. I couldn't find any loading docks, and I really couldn't imagine them doing loading from the front entrance. Hugo understands how things like this become an obsession for me, so he specifically emailed me to tell me of a hidden loading dock all the back on 13th Street. Whew. I sure as heck didn't want to get arrested lurking around the back of their store like a bald, gay Nancy Drew.
Then my aunt sets me on another quest. She sent me the link to this little gem:

Apparently it is in Flanders, NY. I MUST GO THERE. It is obviously a sign of intelligent design, yes?

speaking of the gay nancy drew....yesterday i was perusing the gay section at our local barnes and noble and ran across "the hardly boys: a ghost in the closet". here's an excerpt:
"Look, Frank! A door!" Joe cried. Joe gasped as Willy flung open the warped wooden door only to reveal—an empty closet! "I'm sure there’s nothing special about this closet," Uncle Nelly told them in a rueful tone. "Why on earth those men wanted inside so badly I'll never know. It's small and cramped and smells like wash left too long on the line. Not only that, the wallpaper is far more hideous than I remember," he shuddered, noticing that the floral Victorian pattern clashed dreadfully with the pleasant rose-colored living room walls."

THE BIG DUCK!!! I remember that fondly from my childhood when heading out to Amagancett back in the 60's and the nearby duck farm!! Here's a site for it:

no! that is not a sign of intelligent design. it looks like it might, however, be a setting for a sequel to pee wee's big adventure, following the theme he started with the dinosaur house in that one.

Does this have something to do with the Avian Flu?
Cheers,
