SF Finale

19.jpg

Yes, the jet/car fiasco really sucked. The spectacular destruction of my
camera sucked further. Suckiness sucks.

It was all worth it, if weighed against the good times I had with friends, both old and new. I felt appreciated, comforted, and relaxed, which was exactly what I needed. Part of me is really terrified that I'm not ready for the new school, so being with friends and recharging the batteries was perfect.

I'm all about spas and massages on vacation, so I went with a guy referenced by my friend Jason over lunch. The massage was with handsome and spiffy Justin, who after giving a great massage proceeded to show me how he makes his comic books. Yes, he was also a comic book artist/writer. I'd never seen how someone drew one, so it was kind of cool how things get set up. I was so relaxed that I almost walked into traffic afterwards, but I would have just tumbled over the hood without injury.

I'm a big fan of Jeff from God of Biscuits, and it was fantastic to meet him (he is shorter than me, although I thought he would be taller than me). We were able to hang out with some of his friends, who then invited me to another set of friends' houses, and then I found out that my friends are friends with his friends, and friends of friends are friends now with me.

My new favorite guys start with Fred the plumber, who really is a plumber. He also has the largest pothos vine I've ever seen, and I saw it in all its glory. John is a reader of the blog, and I was really lucky to have met him- good guy, funny, and let me vent about school, which was really necessary. He also introduced me to Hangar 1 Vodka, which is both a good and bad thing. I had the chance to get hammered with John, Scott, and Michael (they live in a building with a Wonkovator) at a fun bar, and I almost sang karaoke, which is one of the signs of the apocalypse.

I also was able to hang out a bunch with Jessie, Reese, Shando, David, Dana, Matt, and Bruce.

Things were fun. I went to Muir Woods, across the Golden Gate bridge, and I now know just how much vodka I should avoid drinking. I met new friends, hung with old friends, and I did silly wasteful things like read books. It doesn't get better than that.
