Search for beer

Brooklyn-Black-Chocolate-stout.jpg

Back when I lived in Brooklyn, I discovered Brooklyn Chocolate Stout. It's an imperial stout, Russian style, with a strong alcohol count, smooth flavor, and great body. Back in Brooklyn, I could buy it easily at the local grocery store.

Now I live in Harlem, approximately 12.41 road miles from my old place. Does Fairway have it? No. Do any of the local bodegas carry it? No. I've called and left messages at Brooklyn Brewery. No return phone calls. I've emailed Fairway, no response.

Derrick found some at the Whole Foods down at Union Square. Does anyone have a better suggestion? I'll share the beer with anyone with a good idea.

G, Try Pioneer grocery on Columbus at 75th. I don't know Bklyn. Choc. Stout, but they have a whole aisle full of hard to find beers. I'll look next time we're stocking the fridge. -Farmboy C

Let's be in honest: when we lived in Brooklyn we both had a high alcohol content, a smooth taste and a great body...but things change... Anyway, FreshDirect will deliver it right to your door.

Um, yeah. Fresh Direct, kiddo.

Fresh Direct STILL doesn't deliver to our address. We keep begging, but they just laugh in a cruel way.

Ah! Brooklyn Chocolate Stout. I discoved this delicious beverage at A place called Racers, on Harford Road outside Baltimore around 1993.
It was owned by two beer nuts whose dad owned a beer distributorship. Seven days a week, they had a unique happy hour: "3 beers for 3 bucks" - three 12oz. mugs, served all at once, from your choice of 16 taps. It kept the lines fresh and encouraged people to try different brews. If they had Chocolate Stout on tap, I'd get three mugs of that!

How about a beer shuttle?
I can buy a six-pack for you for you at Whole Foods on Union Square, walk over to the #1 train and put the bag in the first car of the train. Then I'll call you and you can go meet the train uptown and get your beer.

Oh, man! I've been wanting to send some Brooklyn Beer to my parents in Florida for nearly two years now (My mom's from Brooklyn) but they don't ship the stuff down there!

If Whole Food carries it, then there's a closer one at Columbus circle in the basement of the Time Warner Building! Just one stop on the A or D to 125th st.!

Yay bourgie beer!

C found it at the Pioneer grocery store he mentions above. I tried it. A bit bitter for my taste, but certianly worlds better than anything available at our usual bars.
