Things NOT to do on Christmas Eve
We had a great trip to Chicago. No major stress getting to the airport, no major stress at the airport, and no major stress on the plane. Great relaxing time with our friends. Only one thing went a bit awry.
One shouldn't break ones partner's nose while being affectionate.
I didn't mean to break his nose, I swear. We were going to bed, and I started to tickle Derrick. Tickling Derrick is endlessly amusing for me, as I love watching an erudite and formidable person transform into a giggling five year old. He goes into the fetal position, never thinking to retaliate, just giggling helplessly. It is SO CUTE.
This time, he lurched forward as I tickled him, the bridge of his nose slamming into my forehead. With a great CRACK, delicate cartilage lost the battle to skull.
He was not amused, not amused at all. He gives me that really, really angry look. I'm suddenly trying to calm him down, apologize, while anxiously looking to see if his eyes are blackening, as that happened to me once.
His nose was sore that night, but now he's fine. This does not preclude me from tickling him in the future, by the way. Probably won't even keep me from tickling him tonight.

Could've been worse. The blood could've formed around Derrick's nose to make a clown nose, then he'd crash your skull into pieces, tear up your stomach organs 'n' eat your chicken.
Derrick's not a disguised Bozo, right?

I love this story. Not sure why, as I am also ticklish. But I do.

I hate being tickled- I can not help myself and I go beserk and punch or slap whoever does it. As a child my father would hold me down and tickle me :(

I'm pretty sure that Derrick has the right to tickle you mercilessly tonight. Actually, I think that by legal precedent, he is required to reduce YOU to a giggling five-year-old for seventeen nights in a row. Fair's fair.

oh my god -- admit it: you have a nose-breaking fetish.

Holy crap! I hope Derrick heals ok.
Sheesh, I need to keep this story from my Boo. Every time I tickle him something gets broken. So far, 2 lamps and a pair of glasses. I don't want to give him any ideas!!!

I have largely grown out of my ticklishness, though it was one of the traits I shared with my sister, whose hasn't worn off. Tickling her 'til she cried was traumatic yet fun. We had to declare tickling off limits in fights.

Not that I am in a position to be tickled often, but I always get very vocal and warn the other party that if they persist, I will not be held accountable for the violence that may occur. It never dawned on me that I could be the one to get hurt.
Which only leads me to believe tickling is even less a valid form of self-expression.

Glad you had a good xmas ... and I'm sure Derrick enjoys being tickled by you any other time that you might not break his nose.
