Deliberate Flatulence
Nothing says 'fun Friday' like having a colonoscopy.
Because of some current family medical history and my last checkup (atypical cells discovered), my doctor recommended that I have a full colonoscopy. For those under the age of 50, this involves total fasting from my breakfast the day before until the procedure. Teaching while being ravenous is not a good thing, but I made it through. On the prior evening, you have to drink this mixture all evening that, ahem, clears you out.
The procedure went well, especially since they had me on some anesthesia. With full video, the doctor basically jammed a sewer snake into my nether regions, and I got to have my own televised "Fantastic Voyage." I was laughing and whooping, apparently telling the doctor it looked like a roller coaster ride.
Afterwards, the REALLY INTENSE FARTING began. We're talking hours of it.
All the tests came out good. Glad I don't have to do that for another five years, hopefully.

I had a sigmoidoscopy four years ago. They didn't go that far in, but they didn't sedate me either. I never would have guessed so much air could be pumped into my bottom, but most of it came out in one epic fart as I was dressing. Did you get pictures?

I'm glad you survived and everything looks fine!
Gawd! What a career choice to make! "Gee! I wanna be a procotogist and deal with assholes all day long!" Yeah...okay...whatever. Someone's gotta do it, I guess.

I had a colonoscopy this year. On Valentine's Day. It was special.

Colon health is important! Glad everything went ok. Was your 'scopy on Friday the 13th? If so, I had one on the same day. Hated the prep, but the procedure was smooth sailin', and the drugs were *fantastic*. Just thinking about it now makes me all tingly inside.

If I had to choose between root canal and colonoscopy, well, bend me over. I'm just sayin.

Yikes!

I offered to do it with a garden hose and lit matches, but you wanted a "doctor." I don't get it.

Hey, I had it done, too! :-) Talk about a roller coaster ride is right, I even got one of those 'souvenir' pictures when I left the place! gaaah!
Oright, drink 'til you're bloated, and then drink so more!!! The prep work was a 'gas'!!!

Been there, done that. Glad your test was clear!

Congatulations! Just so you know, I am a Radiology Practitioner-it's what you do when you don't have $150k for med school!Ha!-and they have a new procedure now called a "virtual colonoscopy". It is new and it is basically a CAT scan of the colon. It is not available everywhere yet, but it will be. You still have to fast and drink the prep, but it requires very little air and no sedation. Just an option for the future. Trust me, I have patients that avoided preventative screenings and have regreted it. Hurray for you!

ROFLMAO!!!
Perhaps it isn't appropriate to find myself laughing out loud at your, um, medical misfortune, but damn that was a funny post.
Glad everything's well, and also glad to hear your roller coaster, er, colon is looking lovely!
(I tend to have much more fun at the doctor than they're used to. My dentist and gyno both grin whenever I walk in their doors 'cause I'm a spas and I find learning new things - especially about my favorite subject, ME! - great fun. Particularly on drugs.)

I hope you at least got dinner and a movie out of it.

As one of the over 50 crowd I've been through it twice. The prep is the worst part, though the epic farting bouts afterwards is always fun. At least my doctor is cute.

The best drugs I ever had - had zero tension in my entire body.
