Remember to backup your phone

I did, but only back in November 2006. Oops.

I attempted to text message Zeitzeuge Mark this morning to invite him to brunch/afternoon touring the Met. Afterwards I was going to text others, but that stopped. My phone froze up, so I found some pencil lead and pressed my Treo's reset button.

When the little frakking computer rebooted, everything was gone. Everything. Because of the difficulties of updating between Microsoft Entourage on the Mac and my Treo, I avoided doing it since November.

Now I've spent the last two hours trying to get the blasted phone working again, as the phone keeps freezing up. Damnit. I can't make phone calls, I've lost TONS of contacts, and my entire calendar is fried.

I'm eating chocolate now, as otherwise I'll end up throwing the blasted thing out the window.

This is why I still don't have such a device. I don't want a phone that crashes.

So sorry to hear that G. That really sucks.. and such an inconvenient time too, with the blogmeet, etc. Hope it doesn't spoil your weekend too much. Technology, it's truly a love/hate relationship innit?

xoxo

Sorry to hear it! Technology can be SUCH a bitch!

Wish I was there to meet up with y'all.

Now I know why I still have a rotary dial phone!

I had that happen with my Treo once - horrid. Have you done a hard reset yet? It seems like you might need to do that to get the bugs out. Of course I'd back up any new data before then. Also, have you added any new software recently? If so, that could be causing the fritzing... I bought an add-on software called BackUp Buddy (no, not like that) and it stores a back up on a memory card on the Treo instead of only the computer. It backs it up nightly and is convenient in cases like this. Good luck.

For those of us who are cell-phoneless, can we be saved?
